Statement of Position and Practice

We strongly affirm the Bible to be the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. In hermeneutics we are committed to the literal (grammatical-historical) method of Bible interpretation. We are committed to the historic fundamentals of the Christian faith. Furthermore, we believe it is important to identify ourselves as evangelistic, committed to discipleship, separated from false doctrine, local-church-oriented and denominationally independent. We believe that the Bible teaches us to oppose the error promoted by apostasy, heresy and respect of persons. We also believe the apostolic gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and healing, were temporary.

While we stand for these truths, we consider Christ-like attitudes and the godly lifestyle of the Christian messenger to be of equal importance with the orthodox correctness of this message. Since all true believers are one in Christ regardless of skin color, race or differences on non-fundamental doctrines, we believe that this reality should be expressed in practical demonstrations of love, one to another, here and now (I John 3:18). For this reason we abhor all attitudes of superiority and paternalism in the Body of Christ. Our aim is to communicate the compassion of Christ without compromising the truth of Christ.
