The Educational Process
Students admitted to Crossroads Bible College are electing to participate in an educational process designed to train them to reach a multiethnic urban world for Christ. In pursuit of this mission, four areas of development are essential. Intellectually, students learn critical thinking, so as to acquire and assimilate knowledge only after careful testing with natural reason and the Word of God. Spiritually, students incorporate the ethical principles of the Word of God into their lives so that these principles become active, energizing moral behavior. Culturally, students are encouraged to recognize and respect diverse patterns of social behavior with a view toward ministry within and beyond their own cultural context. Professionally, students develop skills in the practical application of knowledge and methods acquired in the classroom, thus preparing them for ministry within and without the Christian community.
Although Crossroads specializes in training for vocational Christian ministry, it is nevertheless an educational institution. As such, it offers credible academic degrees recognized by other academic and non-academic institutions. But because it is an academic institution, Crossroads recognizes that the training it provides is not complete apart from the practical and relational context provided by the local churches to which the students belong. This educational process functions intentionally in partnership with churches in the Indianapolis metropolitan area and around the world.
