Academic Appeals

Students who disagree with a decision by a faculty member or administrator in the matter of grades or other academic matters (this does not include student life issues or financial disputes) should address their concerns personally to the instructor/administrator who made the decision. If a mutually agreeable decision cannot be reached, students may appeal the instructor/administrator's decision to the Faculty Senate. This is done by submitting a written appeal to the Chair of the Faculty Senate, who will bring the appeal before the Senate. The Senate may, at its option, ask students to argue their case before the Senate or submit evidence and testimony supporting their appeal. The Senate may also, at its option, delegate the matter to one of its committees. All decisions of the Faculty Senate are final.
